The website and mobile application of Indian Railways’ ticket booking portal, IRCTC, were again down on Tuesday. This is the third time this month that the website has faced an outage. Earlier on December 26, there was an issue with the website and app.
IRCTC website often crashes during peak hours i.e. during normal ticket booking as well as during Tatkal ticket booking. According to outage tracking platform Down-Detector, people started filing complaints from 9:51 a.m. Until 10:21 a.m., around 1,300 people have filed their reports.
According to Downdetector, 46% of people found IRCTC on the website, 42% on the app and 12% on the station ticket office. After that, many users also expressed their dissatisfaction on social media.
According to DownDetector, around 1,300 users have reported IRCTC outage.
If the website is down while booking tickets, nothing is updated.

Although no statement has been released by IRCTC regarding this yet, users have been facing a lot of issues. Due to problems on the IRTC website, users took to social media. People have been posting a lot about this issue on social media platform X and showing a lot of anger and criticism towards IRCTC.
A user wrote: Ashwini Vaishnav, please close your ticketing website. It would be better if you created a reel and told how the website works.
IRCTC website was also down on December 9
This is the second time in December that the IRCTC website has been down, affecting ticket bookings of thousands of passengers. Earlier, on December 9, the rate was also falling. The IRCTC had cited maintenance as the reason for this. IRCTC had said that from 4 pm on December 9 till 4 pm on December 10, fresh registration, change of login password and update of profile password will not be possible.

When the IRCTC website is down, an unavailability message is often visible to the user, in which it is written that due to maintenance, the e-ticketing service is not available, try after a while. IRCTC shares fell 21% in 6 months
On Tuesday at 2:38 p.m., IRCTC stock was trading at 786.80 with a gain of 2.32%. The company’s shares fell 3.64% in the last month, 20.75% in 6 months, and 11.78% in a year. The market capitalization of IRCTC is Rs 62,960 crore.
IRCTC joined Indian Railways in 1999.
