Kia India is gearing up to launch its new SUV Ciros in the Indian market. According to media reports, the company has also started offline bookings at select dealerships.

The Kia Ciros will be offered with 1.0 turbo-petrol and 1.5 diesel engine options. It will be positioned between Sonet and Seltos in the company’s India portfolio.

The price of the SUV can start from Rs 9 lakh and will be launched in the global market on December 19. According to Autocar India, the price of the car could be announced at the Bharat Mobility Show in January, where the car will be showcased to the general public for the first time.

The price of Kia Ciros can start from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Its delivery is expected to begin at the end of January or beginning of February next year. Currently, there is no direct comparison car in India.

Exterior: There are flush doors with LED lighting. Kia India also recently shared teasers of the car on social media platform X. In these, some design elements of the car were showcased by the company.

The Ciros will have a vertically stacked 3-module LED headlight, with a long LED DRL on the side. The SUV’s design will also feature large window panels, a flat roof and a sharp crease in the window beltline as well as the C-pillar.

According to the teaser sketch, it will have raised wheel arches, a shoulder line and flush door handles. Its exterior design is complemented by long roof rails, an L-shaped taillight and a vertical tailgate. 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels can be found in the car.

Cabin and features: 10.25-inch digital driver display. The company hasn’t shared the cabin details of the Ciros, but it is expected that a dual-tone interior theme can be found inside like Sonet and Seltos. Below, a new 10.25-inch digital driver display can be installed on the dashboard. However, according to the recently leaked photo, a new 2-spoke steering wheel will be provided.

In the entry-level variant, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine developing 82 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque can be provided, which will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

There will be a 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine option with 118 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque, which will be accompanied by two transmission options, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed clutchless manual. .

Apart from this, the third option will also be a 1.5 liter diesel engine with a power of 114 hp and a torque of 250 Nm, with which the option of a 6-speed clutchless manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be offered.

Safety Features: 17 autonomous Level 2 features can be found in Ciros for safety, like Sonet and Seltos, electronic brake distribution, emergency stop signal, brake assist, electronic stability control (ESC), control Hill Start Assist (HAC), features like Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) will be available. Apart from this, 6 airbags will be provided as standard in all variants.
