Kia Motors today (October 3) launched its flagship electric SUV EV9 in India. The company claims that the car will travel more than 541 km on a full charge. The car is equipped with high-level features such as the Highway Driving Pilot (HDP) system.

Apart from this, for safety purposes, it comes with features like 9 airbags, 360-degree camera, and ADAS Level 2. The company introduced the car only in GT-Line trim with 6-seat configuration. places. Its 7-seater version will be launched later.

Its price has been kept at Rs 1.30 crore (intro, ex-showroom pan-India). This is the most expensive Kia electric car in India so far, which will be imported and sold here as a fully built unit.

The Kia EV9 will compete with the Mercedes EQE, BMW iX and Audi Q8 e-tron SUVs in India.

Exterior design: digital pattern lighting grille Modern LED lighting elements have been installed at the front of the Kia EV9. It features two clusters of small cube lamps, a digital pattern lighting grille, vertical headlights and the signature “digital tiger face” with “star map” LED daytime running lights. The company has named it Star Map DRL.

A tapered roofline and 19-inch alloy wheels will be available on the side. At the rear, a black bumper with a vertically stacked LED tail lamp and a silver skid plate is provided. The overall appearance of the car is that of a boxy, SUV body.

Interior: Triple-integrated screen setup The interior of the Kia EV9 is based on the theme of black and brown color combination. A black-finished floating dashboard is featured here, on which an integrated triple screen setup is available. It includes two 12.3-inch screens and a 5.3-inch climate control screen.

Below the central display, hidden type vertical touch controls for start/stop, air conditioning, ventilation system, media and other settings are provided on the dashboard. Captain’s chairs with leg rest, massage function and electrically adjustable steering wheel are provided in the second row.

Apart from this, the Indian model of Kia EV9 also has features like individual sunroof for first and second row, digital IRVM (inner rear view mirror), relax function for front and second row seats with leg rest and 64-color ambient lighting. Safety features: 10 airbags and ADA level 2 For safety purposes, the electric SUV comes with safety features like 10 airbags, 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors. It also has an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Level 2, in which functions such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist are available. The electric SUV received a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP and Asian NCAP crash tests.
