Mercedes-Benz India today (October 22) launched the facelifted version of the Mercedes-AMG G63 in India. The starting price of the car has been kept at Rs 3.60 crore (ex-showroom Pan-India).

More than 120 units from the first batch have already been booked for India. However, the company has opened reservations for the second batch, which is expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2025.

New design elements have been added to the car and its interior has also been updated. Apart from this, the car comes with active suspension and an updated 4-litre twin-turbo mild hybrid petrol engine with a 4WD setup. The Mercedes AMG G63 has no direct competition, but it gives tough competition to off-road cars like the Jeep Wrangler and Land Rover Defender.

Exterior: New design 22-inch alloy wheels In terms of design, the 2024 Mercedes AMG G63 is similar to its previous model. Its shape is square and at the front, a black grille with 3 vertical slats is provided in front of the air inlet. Along with this, a new AMG logo has been placed on the new bumper and hood.

There are round projector-based LED headlights on either side of the grille with circular LED daytime running lights and fender-mounted turn indicators. The wheel design on the side has also been new and wheel options up to 22 inches are available. Apart from this, 31 color options and 29 seat cover options are available in the car.

Interior: dual 12.3-inch touchscreen The interior layout of the 2024 AMG G63 also remains the same. However, it received a new steering wheel and it is similar to the new generation cars from Mercedes AMG. It has switches for different functions.

The cabin features Nappa leather upholstery on the seats, carbon fiber accents, and customizable ambient lighting. It received software updates for the 12.3-inch screens and its off-road cockpit was also updated. Apart from this, augmented reality has also been integrated into the navigation system.

Coming to features, a dual 12.3-inch touchscreen (one infotainment system and the other driver display) is provided on the dashboard. Features such as an 18-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system, 3-zone automatic climate control and a sunroof are provided.

Safety Features: Car is equipped with updated ADAS For safety purposes, the SUV comes with features like multiple airbags, 360-degree camera with blind spot assist, and ISOFIX child anchor seat mount. Apart from this, it has also been equipped with updated advanced driver assistance features such as active brake assist and lane keep assist.

Performance: mild hybrid engine and active ride control suspension For performance, the new AMG G63 is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, combined with 48 V mild hybrid technology. This configuration generates a maximum power of 576 hp and a torque of 850 Nm. An additional boost of 20 hp is also available during acceleration.

Talking about the transmission, the engine is tuned with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The car is equipped with the brand’s 4Matic all-wheel drive system which powers all four wheels.

A new “Race Start” function has also been offered in the SUV. Thanks to this, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Its maximum speed is 240 km/h. The special thing is that, for the first time, a launch control functionality has been provided in the G63.

Apart from this, the car is equipped with AMG Active Ride Control suspension. This suspension system includes active hydraulic roll stabilization and adjustable damping. This gives the car smooth performance on all types of surfaces.
