TVS Motor India today (November 19) launched a new premium variant of its popular Apache RTR 160 4V bike. The price of the new variant has been kept at Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the most expensive variant of the bike. Apache RTR 160 4V is now available in a total of 7 variants. Its new variant will compete with the Hero Extreme 160R, Honda Hornet 2.0, Pulsar N160 and Pulsar NS160.

This new variant was introduced with a shiny gold-colored (USD) inverted front fork, a squatter bullpup exhaust and three new color options. This includes Granite Grey, Matte Black and Pearl White. Apart from this, to give a sporty look to the updated motorcycle, racing-inspired graphics and red-colored alloy wheels have been added.

Three new color options will be available in the new variant of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.

Design: Instrument console supporting Bluetooth. The appearance of the new variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V is similar to the existing model. It features a muscular fuel tank, one-piece seat, split grab bar, adjustable brake and clutch lever. The bike has a Bluetooth enabled instrument console, aggressive LED headlights with LED DRL.

Performance: There were no mechanical changes in the bike at top speed of 114 km/h in sport mode. For performance, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is powered by a 159.7cc, 4-valve, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine, which is connected to a 5-speed gearbox for transmission. With this, three driving modes are available: Urban, Rain and Sport.

The engine generates a power of 15.64 hp and a maximum torque of 14.14 Nm in urban and rain modes. In sport mode, it generates a power of 17.55 hp and a maximum torque of 14.73 Nm. The maximum speed of the bike is 103 km/h in urban and rain mode and 114 km/h in sport mode. It also benefits from Glide Through Technology (GTT) with a race-friendly fuel injection system, adjustable clutch and brake lever.

Braking, Suspension and Features For a comfortable ride, the top variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V features a new Up Side Down (USD) fork at the front and an adjustable monoshock unit at the rear . For braking, a 240mm disc brake is available on the rear wheel.

Talking about features, TVS SmartConnect system will be available in the motorcycle. It includes features such as turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, racing telemetry, adjustable brake and clutch levers, lean angle mode, collision alert, low fuel warning and voice assistance.
