Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has launched the Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition in India at Rs 4.98 crore (ex-showroom, India). It is based on the long wheelbase Range Rover available for sale in India. It was customized by the brand’s SV bespoke division. The Ranthambore edition is the first limited edition made only for India.

There will be only 12 units of Ranthambore Edition. Each unit will have custom made door sill plates indicating the model of the unit (e.g. 1 of 12). The exterior of the SV Division receives a custom black finish with a reddish finish.

It also contrasts with the Corinthian accents in bronze and anthracite. It is inspired by tiger stripes. Its grille, tailgate and 23-inch dark alloy wheels are also inspired by tiger stripes.

Interior inspired by the tiger’s spine and stripes

Coming to the interior of the Ranthambore edition, Caraway and Perlino semi-aniline leather with contrast stitching has been used in the four-seater cabin. The seats are embroidered, inspired by the spine and stripes of the tiger.

Features like reclining seats and a refrigerated compartment

Custom scatter cushions, chrome highlights, light wenge veneer and white ceramic dials have been used to differentiate the Ranthambore Edition from the standard Range Rover SV.

It’s based on the SV, so it features fully reclining seats for rear passengers, an electric table, deployable cup holders and a refrigerated compartment with SV-etched glassware.

3.0-liter six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine in the Ranthambore edition

This limited edition model is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 400 hp and 550 Nm, which is also available in the Autobiography variant. Which is priced at Rs 2.6 crore (ex-showroom, India).

The company says it will donate a portion of the revenue from sales of Ranthambore Edition to the Wildlife Conservation Trust of India.
