Online food aggregator Zomato will now deliver food in 15 minutes. The company has offered a new option on its app to deliver food to customers in 15 minutes. However, the delivery location must be within 1.5 kilometers of the restaurant.
For this, customers will need to go to the “Deliver in 15 minutes” tab in the Explore section of the Zomato app. Customers will be able to view the list of foods to be delivered and order here. Currently this service is not available everywhere.
Previously, the company launched this service as a pilot project around 3 years ago. Then this service was launched in cities like Delhi, Gurugram and Bangalore.
Blinkit, a subsidiary of Zomato, will launch “Bistro” in December 2024
In December 2024, Blinkit, the company’s fast commerce subsidiary, launched “Bistro”. Through this platform, the company promises to deliver snacks, meals and drinks within 10 minutes. Earlier, Zomato’s rival Zepto had unveiled Zepto Café.
This was Zomato’s second such attempt in the instant food and grocery delivery segment. According to the report, Zomato had previously launched Zomato Instant, which was later discontinued.
Blinkit launched Bistro on Google Play Store on December 6
Blinkit, the fast commerce grocery subsidiary of Zomato, launched its new Bistro app on Google Play Store on December 6, 2024. The app is designed to deliver snacks, meals and drinks in just 10 minutes.
This Zomato app entered the instant food delivery segment after Swiggy’s Swiggy Bolt and Zepto’s Zepto Cafe. Currently, all of these apps do not sell real meals, but sell ready meals and snacks like samosas, sandwiches, coffee, pastries and other items.
Zomato’s profit rose 388% in the second quarter
Zomato’s profit in the July-September quarter rose 388% year-on-year to Rs 176 crore. The company’s consolidated net profit in the same quarter a year ago was Rs 36 crore.
The company’s second quarter revenue increased 68.50 per cent to Rs 4,799 crore. The revenue in the same quarter a year ago was Rs 2,848 crore.
