India News Get -BusinessTravel Insurance; Separate travel insurance for domestic and international travel

The trend of domestic and international travel has been increasing in the country over the last two to three years. It is for this reason that the demand for travel insurance is increasing. Recently, many flights have been delayed or canceled due to bomb threats. In case of flight delay, affected airlines must arrange food, alternative flight or full ticket refund as directed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

However, this remedy does not apply when the delay is caused by extraordinary events, such as a bomb threat, over which the airline has no control. This means that if the trip is canceled due to a bomb threat, the airline will not compensate the loss. In such a situation, travel insurance can provide relief. It is mainly international travelers who can request reimbursement for flight delays or diversions caused by a bomb threat, depending on the terms of the travel insurance policy.

International travel insurance coverage up to Rs 4 lakh International travel policies often come with significant compensation. Travel delay cover can range from Rs 4,200 to Rs 84,000. Insurance companies offer cover up to Rs 4 lakh for hotel stay in case of emergency. Additionally, they also offer an allowance of Rs 10,500 per day in case of any stranding en route. However, this coverage depends on the policy and the insurance company.

Bonus up to 10% of travel costs The travel insurance premium ranges from 4% to 10% of travel costs. It depends on many factors like destination, coverage, age of the person covered, insurance company, etc.
