So far, the Taliban do not benefit from diplomatic recognition from any country
It has been more than 3 years since the rule of the Taliban in Afghanistan, but until now they have not received diplomatic recognition from any country. Since 2021, the Indian government has also been in constant contact with the Taliban, but has not yet granted them diplomatic recognition.
Diplomatic recognition is, in a way, the first step in establishing diplomatic relations. When a sovereign and independent country recognizes another sovereign or independent country, diplomatic relations are established between these two countries. To recognize or not is a political decision. When diplomatic relations are established, both countries are required to obey and respect international law.
